Government
In October 2001, mmbl won a major contract to manage a key component of the English House Condition Survey (EHCS). The survey, sponsored by Communities and Local Government (CLG), has now run continuously from April 2002. mmbl are responsible for undertaking detailed visual inspections of 8000 properties a year, and this has represented a significant expansion of the company’s activities.
The work has been undertaken by 200 part-time surveyors, supported by 5 Regional Managers.
mmbl are working in partnership with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) who have overall management responsibility for the survey that comprises a household interview, market valuation exercise and interviews with private landlords, as well as the physical inspection of the sampled properties. The survey covers all types of housing in England, whether owner occupied or owned by private or social landlords.
To date we have completed over 50,000 surveys of properties since we started and as of the 1st of April 2008 were re-appointed to carry out the new four year EHS (English House Survey) contract.
