mmbl has provided multi-disciplinary services for the Healthcare sector for over twenty years. Our experience ranges from pre-works contracts to alterations to existing facilities, ward refurbishments to new build works for entire departments. mmbl have also worked with charities such as Break and Local Health Authorities on the construction and engineering of new hospitals, residential and support facilities.
mmbl staff have completed numerous health care projects and have extensive knowledge, understanding and expertise from pre-contract, through project inception to completion. All the projects that we have undertaken have included working closely not just with the Project Manager for the NHS Trust, but through seminars and consultations with staff. Where we have acted in the role of Cost Consultant we have managed project budgets from initial estimate right through the NHS process of Cost Planning which has to be agreed with the NHS Estates Department and then agreed with the regional authorities.
Where we have worked on internal departments (i.e. theatre refurbishment etc.) we recognise that on-site access is a key issue on a congested hospital site. Where we have acted as project managers/client representative, we have written stringent requirements on where contractors could operate from/park, allocated specific areas as the project base and delivered seminars to contractors on the rules of working on hospital sites.
Our experience of working on hospital sites has led to the development of specific strategies which we have implemented into our own projects including working with vulnerable groups, working on restricted access and congested sites and strict guidelines to working within budget and to given timescales.
